The Dallas Cowboys made solid selections with their first two picks in the NFL Draft, effectively addressing needs on both the offensive and defensive lines.
However, they found themselves still lacking in the running back position, a crucial area requiring attention.
Disappointingly, their desired candidate wasn’t available when their turn came around again.
NFL analyst and fervent Cowboys supporter Skip Bayless aired his frustration on Twitter when the Los Angeles Rams secured Blake Corum just four picks before Dallas had the chance.
Well, there went Blake Corum, 4 picks before Dallas, to the Rams. He was the driving force for a national champ. Built and timed just like Emmitt. Similar balance. Cowboys badly needed him. I would have taken him with that earlier extra 3rd-rd pick. Bummer. Letdown. Loss.

Corum, often likened to the legendary Emmitt Smith in physique, showcased his prowess at Michigan, leaving a significant mark as the school’s all-time leader in rushing touchdowns. With Tony Pollard departing in free agency and a lack of depth in the position, the Cowboys now face the challenge of finding a suitable replacement, with rumors swirling about a possible reunion with Ezekiel Elliott.
Meanwhile, Corum appears poised to make waves as a key figure in Sean McVay’s Rams squad.
While the draft lacked standout running backs in the first round, Corum’s potential suggests he could surpass initial expectations and become a standout performer at the professional level.
It will be interesting to see what the Dallas Cowboys can do on Day 3 of the NFL Draft. They need to add talent to their running back room, although it does sound like Ezekiel Elliott will be making his return to the franchise.
