Alabama football alums, including two QBs, headline first two weeks of 2024 NFL action
Steve Roberts-USA TODAY Sports

The National Football League releases its full regular season schedule on Wednesday, but the league provided a preview of some marquee matchups that will happen in the first two weeks.

Several alums from the University of Alabama, including two quarterbacks, headline these games in the first two weeks.

People will see Derrick Henry, a former Crimson Tide running back, for the first time as a Baltimore Raven to kick off the NFL season on Sept. 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Marlon Humphrey, a former two-time national champion, enters his eighth season as a cornerback for the Ravens. Jalen Hurts will lead the Philadelphia Eagles against the Green Bay Packers on the following day, Sept. 6, in a matchup in Brazil.

Philadelphia and Green Bay will feature Hurts, DeVonta Smith, Landon Dickerson, Tyler Steen, Eli Ricks, Josh Jobe, Josh Jacobs, and Xavier McKinney. Amari Cooper and Jerry Jeudy will be on display as teammates for the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 8 versus the Dallas Cowboys.

Raekwon Davis, a former Alabama defensive lineman, is with Miami too.

Cincinnati versus Kansas City is the final marquee contest in week two.

Jermaine Burton, a former Tide wide receiver, was selected in the third round of the NFL Draft by the Bengals.

He will get an opportunity to catch passes from Joe Burrow on Sept. 15. The University of Alabama will at least have 18 alums from its football program playing in the first two weeks of the upcoming NFL season.
