Here’s Why Manu Gonobili Loves Denver Nuggets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves Series
Wendell Cruz-USA TODAY Sports

Unlike most showdowns in this year’s NBA playoffs, the Minnesota Timberwolves-Denver Nuggets series has garnered a lot of attention due to its competitive nature. Among those who have tuned in to this match is no other than San Antonio Spurs legend Manu Ginobili.

Before Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves faced Denver in the second round, they swept the Phoenix Suns in a dominant fashion. Throughout those four games, Minnesota’s All-Star shooting guard averaged 31.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 2.0 steals in 39.4 minutes per contest.

After the Timberwolves took care of business against the Kevin Durant-led squad, they found themselves facing the defending champions in the Western Conference Semifinals. A lot of NBA fans were taken by surprise when they defeated Denver for two consecutive games in their series. Thanks to a better overall defensive performance and key reserve players stepping up, Minnesota took the early lead against the Nuggets.

However, Denver stole the momentum back by winning Games 3 and 4 due to Jokic, Jamal Murray, and Aaron Gordon playing better in those contests. Thanks to their improved performance on both ends of the court, the Nuggets have caught up against the Timberwolves. As a result, the series is now tied with both teams displaying grit and heart throughout their matches against each other.

The Main Reason Why Former NBA Champion Manu Ginobli Loves Minnesota Timberwolves Series Vs. Denver Nuggets

This year’s Western Conference Semifinals between the Timberwolves and Nuggets has gained a lot of fans. Among those is no other than Spurs legend Manu Ginobili, as seen in a tweet he posted on X:

“What a pleasure to watch players like Jokic and Edwards play! Completely different styles but both hugely entertaining. Love them both!” Ginobili tweeted.

Ginobili is no stranger when it comes to the playoffs and winning big in the NBA. During his time playing for the Spurs, the Argentinian All-Star won the championship four times alongside Tim Duncan and Tony Parker when they defeated notable teams, such as the Miami Heat’s iconic big three of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh.

For sure, the recent showdown between the two Western powerhouses is an amazing series to watch. No matter who advances, the fans are the ultimate winners here. Thanks to the how both teams and their respective stars have played, everyone has more reason to catch their games on the court or on TV.
